既出を狩れ！"Intensive Packet Reading"のススメ！

今年のWQCが終わりました。みなさんいかがだったでしょうか。私の点数は...聞かないでください。

WQCには日本のクイズ界で「ベタ問」と称される問題や日本人にとって常識的な問題も多く出題されていますが、一方で「海外（のクイズ界）では有名だが日本（のクイズ界）ではあまり知られていない問題」も多く出題されているのが事実です。そうした問題を抑えるためには海外のクイズ問題集を読み込むのが効果的かと思われます。そこで、今回は海外の問題集掲載サイトについて紹介したいと思います。

1. High School Quizbowl Packet Archive

In Orphic poems, this god is eternally chained in the cave of the goddess Nyx, drunk on honey, while in other poems, he is freed and appointed king of Elysium. His namesake Athenian harvest festival featured mingling between social classes, reflecting his rule during the Golden Age. (Prison Bowl 2012)

In one work by this author, a line of horsemen in the far distance ride along a ground formed from layers of various colors. This artist of Red Cavalry Riding depicted a man holding an ace of clubs who is partially obscured by a white fish in his The Aviator. This man showed the title figure's foot simultaneously depressing a pedal to three separate depths in his The Knife Grinder, exemplary of the period during which he exhibited with the group Jack of Diamonds. This author of The glyph817onobjective World collaborated with Vladimir Mayakovsky on the manifesto for a group that emphasized the importance of feeling in art and thus concentrated on simple geometric shapes. For 10 points, name this painter of Black Square and the White on White series, the Russian founder of Suprematism. ANSWER: Kazimir Malevich

(ACF Winter 2010)

これらはいずれもクイズボウルの大会で出題された問題です。アメリカのクイズ界で知られている事柄はWQC等の国際大会で出題される可能性も高く、読み込んでおくに越したことはないでしょう。このサイトでは高校だけでなく、ミドルスクール、大学、それからTrashの問題集が公開されています。Trashには主にポップカルチャーに関する問題を出題する大会の問題集が集められています。我々日本人はポップカルチャー（WQCのジャンルでは「エンターテイメント」）で点数を取りにくいため、WQC対策としてはこのジャンルを捨てるのが賢明だと思われます。Trashでない通常の大会でも音楽（主にクラシック）の問題が出されますが、WQC対策としては読み飛ばしていくのが効率的ではないでしょうか。

2. The Quiz League of London

ロンドンのクイズリーグです。こちらは問題文が短く、内容的にも日本の競技クイズとかぶる部分があるので読みやすいと思います（Buzzer Quizはクイズボウルと同様の問題文です）。

おまけ　Eesti Mälumänguliit

エストニアのクイズリーグです。大会で使用された問題がほとんど掲載されています。また、傾向がWQCに似ているのでWQC対策の役に立つと思われますが、全てエストニア語で書かれているためほとんどの人には読めないと思われますorz。エストニア語のわかる方はぜひご活用ください。

いかがでしたでしょうか。以上のようなことを書いてきて、「さぞかしこいつは海外の問題をたくさん読んでいるんだろう」とお思いかもしれませんが、私はほとんど海外の問題を読んでおりません。大まかな内容の確認だけしています。最近はQuiz Brain Frontierを読んでいます。次はBS第3の原則を読むつもりです。
